The communistic censorship had a significant influence on the current cinematography in Poland. But the year 1981 was something extraordinary. Several very critical movies was shot in the atmosphere of the pronouncement of martial law, the strike by Gdansk shipyard workers and the establishment of the political movement called Solidarity.
