(Kevät)
Susanna Helke, Virpi Suutari / FIN, 2005
original version / Czech sub-subtitles, 15 min
A school presentation is accompanied by footage of a bored student, who cannot wait for the school bell to ring and the end of admonishments for failing to pay attention. He is obviously looking forward to the beginning of his holidays, when he can simply kill time with his friends in the woods or occupy himself by pointlessly destroying some random thing. This short, adroitly filmed and completely apposite documentary describes the life of adolescents in a suburb of Helsinki in Finland. It not only bears witness to the lifestyle of the youth of this Scandinavian country, but also portrays the everyday routine of bored young people anywhere on the outskirts of cities. These young people are full of a restlessness, which they need to find an outlet for. This film is an example of the everyday activities of children from the middle classes whose parents don't give them any time or attention.
