A Cock and Bull Story

The novel Tristram Shandy by Lawrence Sterne has long been seen as impossible to make into a film. This film’s director, however, has chosen the only possible way: a total transformation of the novel while maintaining the same overall sense. When the hero begins the narration everything seems to be 18. century England. Then suddenly we realise that we are witnessing the actual making of the film with actors gradually merging with their roles. An excellent comedy full of typically British humour.
