Chan-wook, author of the film Old boy, thinks that everyone wants revenge but that only a few people actually perform it, because society perceives it as contemptible. Old boy is the second part of Chan-wook’s trilogy dealing with the issue of revenge. Dae-su is freed after being held in a hotel room for 15 years. He does not know who imprisoned him or why, and is given five days to find out; only then will he be truly free. He is not the only one seeking revenge though.
