Cahit and Sibel have Turkish and German roots (as does the director of the film). They met in a mental assylum, having been incarcarated for attempting to commit suicide. Cahit sees no point in living, the only thing he enjoys is taking drugs. Sibel wants to get away from her conservative family. Marriage is the only thing that can save her and Cahit agrees to become her husband… This energising romantic drama has been awared the Golden Bear in Berlin.
