One Year / Holly Quarry

ONE YEAR: The film captures seven inhabitants of the foothills of White Carpathian Mountains, who were born still at the times of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, meaning in the years 1907-1917. The creators of the film visited them on ordinary days as well as during traditional religious feasts or during folk traditions. The result is an evidence of the value system and order of people, whose journey through life started at the beginning of this contradictory century and ends at its raging end. An evidence of people who contrary to rough mountain conditions kept their free spirit and humor as an expression of great inner strength. / HOLLY QUARRY: Každý má svoji pravdu, i krušnohorské krystalinikum ví své. Kaňa uchvátila zajíčka a pavouk číhá na mouchu. Bejci půjdou do guláše. Sportovec chce zvítězit, kůň chce zvítězit, vinaři chtěj zvítězit, prezident Klaus chce zvítězit. Žaluji ptákům na nebesích, ovšem energetika musí zůstat trvale vážnou. Pustíte si někoho do bytu, ani nevíte koho, a on vám ublíží. Ďábel mává s lidma, ale krystalinikum je věčné. Film o hledání štěstí v nešťastné krajině. Kamenolom boží je zrcadlem k Rychlíkovu staršímu filmu Jeden rok. Provázanost životního stylu, kultury a hospodaření karpatských horalů se na první pohled propastně odlišuje od života lidí v měsíční krajině severních Čech.
