(Shoppen)
Ralf Westhoff / NĚM, 2006
german / english and czech sub, 91 min
Shoppen is the story of 18 singles in Munich, who all take part in “speed dating” — getting to know someone as best as you can in the span of only 5 minutes. The most important thing in this race-against-time is to maintain one’s cool and sell one’s self as best as one can, yet still observe and judge the person sitting opposite you. Every seconds counts in this race against time. The participants talk about everything they can imagine — giving each other such meaningful (yet senseless) information. There is no time to not be passionate – you have to meet the love of your life! In the film Shoppen, Ralf Westhoff sketches an accurate and hilarious portrait of the new generation of singles. Some of today’s most outstanding talents of the young acting scene in Germany are among the actors found in the film.
