(Heima: a film by Sigur Rós)
Dean DeBlois / IS, 2007
English-Icelandic version / Czech subtitles, 97 min
A visually stunning record of Sigur Rós as a product and a part of its homeland's wild vistas and close-knit culture. Returning home after a long world tour in 2006, the Icelandic band performed a series of free, usually unannounced shows, playing to audiences of all sizes and ages at village halls and community suppers, deep valleys and open fields, an abandoned herring fishery and an environmental protest camp. The alternately humble and majestic settings provide a perfect complement to the band's sonic palette of serene contemplation and ecstatic, thunderous release.
