Spain is a country with a long and rich film tradition lit by star by star names, and equally rich and fascinating is its cinematographic presence. In the past several years short film has become its important part and, thanks to the support of various regional institutions, this country produces over 300 short films every year. One of these institutions is KIMUAK that has been supporting Basque cinematography for over ten years. Our brief excursion into Spanish short film and our homage to this institution would not be complete without the most recent and very successful Basque films, winners of multiple festival awards including two Oscar nominations. And three films that represent the newest Spanish production.
