(Punk: O čem to je / Punk: Attitude)
Don Letts / VB - USA, 2005
original version / Czech sub-subtitles, 90 min
A re-evaluation of the punk explosion, seen within the larger process of the evolution of Western counterculture in the late 20th century. Punk: Attitude presents punk not only as a musical or fashion statement, but an entire philosophy based in principled rebellion and personal independence. Mixing insightful interviews with rare concert footage, Don Letts traces the roots of this punk philosophy to early rock and roll performance styles, following it through such influences as the Stooges, the Velvet Underground and the New York Dolls, to the emergence of the now-legendary collection of bands in New York and London in the 1970s, also tracing its connections to reggae, hip-hop, and the development of the alternative music of the 1990s.
