Gallants

A story about a bullied looser that becomes a disciple of two old martial arts masters is made in the grand style of classic 1970’s kung-fu movies. The story, following the typical formula of martial arts films, where the hero uncovers the essence of kung-fu, is enriched by a melancholic tribute in the style of “Rocky Balboa” (2006) to fictitious heroes and the aging actors portraying them. The old masters perform breathtaking action sequences without any use of special effects or stuntmen. Unlike the stubborn seriousness of Stallone’s latest film, “The Expendables” (2010), “Gallants” brings fresh humor and youthful perspective.
