First Service - Famous in Shorts | 2011

One of the main goals of every short film festival is to encourage young filmmakers. A good way to do that is to remind them that today’s famous directors were also once only starting out themselves. They too had to make do with budgets that fit in an envelope and to depend on their own talent and determination instead of well-paid support staff. This year’s First Service will show you how Věra Chytilová, Éric Rohmer, Jaco Van Dormael, Atom Egoyan and Robert Zemeckis made their debuts.
