(Vinyl (Tales from Vienna Underground))
Andrew Standen-Raz / A - GB, 2010
English version / Czech subtitles, 78 min
The film "VINYL (Tales from Vienna Underground)" uncovers the co-existing worlds of experimental and electronic music in Vienna. Kruder & Dorfmeister, Christian Fennesz, Electric Indigo and others show the music life of today's Vienna, which may gradually become a new Berlin. The documentary also works as a love letter to the cultural phenomenon of vinyl records. Records seem to be a metaphor for something one loves, in spite of their imperfections and scratches. This closely resembles the relationship between the musicians and their city.
The screening is in partnership with the festival Days of European films and the Austrian Cultural Forum Prague.
