Swedish cinematography has a long history and seems to be enjoying yet another boom. Over the past couple of years, short films have made a substantial contribution to its success. They regularly show up at prestigious film festivals, snatching up awards at Cannes, Berlin or Sundance. Six of the ten, in our opinion, best new films will be screened in this section. Additional two will fight for the Main Prize in the International Competition and two more can be found shining in the Utopia section.

The Twin

Gustav is a hard working architect and a passionate free-diver. He practices holding his breath in his car, at work and even while sleeping, which results in a hissing noise that keeps his girlfriend awake. He goes to see a doctor, who discovers something strange in Gustav’s throat. The outcome is both unpleasant and comical.
