This docudrama follows some remarkable children, each with an indomitable desire to fulfill a dream. They embark on their journeys “towards knowledge” which we can all relate to, albeit from a different perspective.
Jackson (11) lives in Kenya. He and his younger sister walk 15 kilometers through savanna inhabited by wild predators to reach their school. Every day, Carlito (11) and his younger sister travel 18 kilometers on horseback across the Argentinian plains. Zahira (12) lives in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Each week, she and two classmates hike through the grueling mountains to get to their boarding school. For Samuel (13), who lives in India and cannot walk, getting to school is sheer misery. He is dependent on his two younger brothers who push him 4 kilometers on a makeshift wheelchair. This film introduces children from four corners of the earth who are connected by a common desire for knowledge. They realize that education opens the gate to a better future and so, they undergo the long and arduous journeys to school.
