(Monty Python and the Holy Grail)
Terry Jones, Terry Gilliam / GB, 1975
English version / Czech subtitles, 91 min
Having assembled the Knights of the Round Table, King Arthur sets out to reach Camelot, only to change his mind when he gets there and go off to find the Holy Grail instead. Their journey is paved with danger, from a three-headed giant to the fearsome Knights Who Say Ni. Amidst the chaos, an innocent historian winds up in serious trouble and a police investigation gets underway. A series of very silly obstacles faces each knight and it will take all their cunning and bravery to reach the Grail. Sadly, while some of these knights are very brave, some are not quite so, which could be a problem when the situation becomes perilous. This cult classic turns 40 this year and has been loved by audiences worldwide since its release. Starring all six original members of the Monty Python troupe, Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a thoroughly British film that changed the face of comedy in this country forever.
