Film Doomed Beauty can be seen as a probe into the life of an extraordinary woman and a description of how a person can be doomed by dramatic events dealt by fate. Lida Baarova was a famous film star in Czechoslovakia in the 1930s and 1940s. Her dramatic fate was significantly shaped by the fact that she lived in Europe in the 20th century. This interesting beauty became one of the first movie stars. Born in Prague, she began her career at the age of 17 in her native Bohemia where she shot several very popular movies. Soon she was noticed also in Germany and achieved the same success there. In Germany, Adolf Hitler and then Joseph Goebbels fell in love with her; with the latter she had a passionate love affair.
