Sympathy for Lady Vengeance

The last part of Park´s trilogy about vengeance (Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance - 2002, Old Boy – 2003), introduces a young woman called Lee Geum who has been accused of a murder of a five-year-old boy. The society had been shocked by her presumed crime and demanded her severe punishment. She was sentenced to 13,5 years in prison. Throughout all these years she has been planning a revenge for the crime she has never committed, for all the lost years she suffered from injustice in jail, for the daughter she was made to leave behind. The film has been nominated at a number of film festivals and it has won a number of awards (for example the Little Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival).
